It is my pleasure to welcome you to Sir Manasseh Meyer International School.

SMMIS was established by the philanthropic commitment and generosity of Sir Manasseh Meyer (1846-1930), a prominent civic and Jewish leader in Singapore. He had a vision of ‘providing an international education for children, with the values to lead successful, ethical lives.’ It is this vision that the Sir Manasseh Meyer Trust has brought to life. SMMIS is a not-for-profit school that puts the educational experience and wellbeing of our school community above all else. Imbued with Jewish values, SMMIS welcomes children of all nationalities and all faiths.

We cater for children from 2 years old, in our Reggio Emilia inspired Pre-School, up to 16 years old, in Grade 10.

We offer a learning experience for students, delivered by internationally trained staff, that is rigorous, broad and relevant. In Primary School, we blend British National Curriculum Literacy and Singapore Maths with the enquiry based International Primary Curriculum (IPC). In Secondary School, we follow the International Middle Years Programme (IMYC) and the Cambridge IGCSE qualifications. Our outstanding facilities enable us to offer a full complement of enrichment opportunities within the curriculum and through after school activities.

We strive for excellence and use creative and dynamic methods to inspire our students. We are a school that is driven by a moral purpose and a clear vision. We offer a holistic learning experience to enable each and every child to grow into fully rounded, socially responsible human beings. We develop students who have a love for lifelong learning, in a school that inspires excellence.

Your child’s wellbeing is our priority, and we have a strong pastoral team that creates a safe environment in which each child can flourish. We promote physical, social and emotional wellbeing, as well as building confidence and self-esteem. As an intentionally small school, we are able to focus on each child and to cater to their individual needs.

We encourage children to appreciate that they are the ‘masters of their own destiny’ and give them the confidence to develop as individuals. We inspire all of our students to have a Growth Mindset and to understand that life is a journey. They are encouraged to grasp opportunities as they arise, and to see mistakes as part of the learning journey.
