Join us for a weekend of discovery as the Arab Peranakan community takes over our spaces to present their unique heritage! Community Voices at Peranakan Museum presents the culture of diverse Peranakan communities, as they share their knowledge with visitors through performances, cooking, crafts, and community-led tours of the museum’s galleries.
This edition of Community Voices is presented in partnership with the Arab Network @ Singapore and in conjunction with Singapore Night Festival.

Check out Arab Peranakan crafts at the Barter and Buy Market on Armenian Street. Have your name hand-lettered in beautiful calligraphy, or try your hand at Arabic keyboard typing on Friday, or come back on Saturday to create your signature scent with a traditional perfume mixologist!

What does it mean to be Arab Peranakan? Members of this community have been in Singapore for more than 200 years, but many Singaporeans know little about them. Join this session with Harasha Bafana, Adni Aljunied, and Muhammad Bahajjaj, as they share interesting aspects about living as Arab Peranakans in Singapore. Moderated by Omar Alattas from AN@S.
Participants will also get to try kopi halia and traditional Arab Peranakan desserts as part of the session!
IN VOGUE: AN ARAB PERANAKAN FASHION SHOW

Discover Arab Peranakan fashion as designers Lulu Alhadad Designs and Ibtiiman Bridal present a stunning selection of their work. This showcase will highlight traditional and modern trends in Arab Peranakan couture. The show will be followed by a Q&A with the designers, who will share the personal experiences that have influenced their careers and designs. Lulu Alhadad will present a collection of formal and day wear, while Ibtiiman Bridal will present their beautiful collection for brides and grooms.
