AUDITION PROCESS

The audition process consists of two parts, the Video Screening as well as the Live Audition.

Note:

For percussion/timpani applicants: you will proceed directly to the live auditions and will not need to submit a video for screening.
For graduating batches (i.e. 'O' or 'A' level candidates and IB students) or international applicants outside of Singapore, you may submit a full audition tape (consisting of your solo work and the orchestral excerpts) instead of coming down for the live auditions. This will take the place of both the Video Screening and the Live Audition. If you wish to exercise this option, please inform us beforehand via email at orchestracamp@orchestra.sg by 21 Aug 2024, 2359. Deadline for these full audition tapes will be 26 Aug 2024, 2359.

VIDEO SCREENING

Applicants must record and submit an unedited video of themselves performing by 21 August 2024.

Requirements

Solo work(s) (3-5 minutes) representative of the current standard
The piece can be the same as what you will play for the live audition
One orchestral excerpt of your choice from this list.
Video Requirements
The video should have a minimum quality of 720 pixels (at least 1280x720p).
Your full body must be within the frame of the video, and your instrument and hands must be clearly visible.
The video should be taken such that you occupy at least half the height of the video frame.
The video should be uploaded to YouTube as “unlisted”, and the video link submitted must be valid and accessible by us.
The video should be filmed no more than 6 months before submission
The audio in the video must be unedited (no patching/autotune etc.)

LIVE AUDITIONS

Live Audition dates: Sun, 2 September - Mon, 3 September 2024

Only applicants who have passed the video screening will be invited to the live auditions. Successful applicants who have passed the video screening will be notified of their audition date and time via email by 26 August 2024.

Solo work(s) representative of current standard (accompanist not needed, recommended total length: 3-5 min)

All Orchestral excerpts from the list.

Additional Info

Audition dates may be subject to change.
Applicants who are either a member of OMM or have recently auditioned for OMM may request to be exempted from the audition.
Applicants are expected to make arrangements to attend their audition.

For percussion/timpani applicants: you will not need to present a solo work. Please prepare the orchestral excerpts for your audition.
