The new Magical Bridge Playground at Sun Plaza Park is now open!
Featuring Singapore’s first wheelchair user-accessible slide, this playground is an inclusive space that welcomes people of all ages and abilities to play, interact and have fun together.
It was made possible with the generous support of Magical Bridge Foundation to the Garden City Fund, NParks’ registered charity and IPC, through their donors, Amanda and Vince Steckler.
Every corner of this playground is created with care and inclusion in mind, with key features such as:
- Wheelchair-user friendly equipment and barrier-free access
- Bright, contrasting colours for equipment and surfaces to support those with low vision
- Hideaway Huts™ that offer quiet spaces for those needing a moment away from active play
- Sensory garden with raised planters featuring plants that are safe to smell and touch
- Amphitheatre for shared gatherings and community activities
The playground is designed around the theme of seed dispersal, with each zone representing a different type of seed dispersal, such as wind, water, and self-dispersal.
Look out for the different plants in each zone, which are planted according to their respective mode of seed dispersal!
