Kemas is a Malay term that means “tidy up”.
It is customary for people and their houses to undergo makeovers before a festive season. Kemas is also a series of roving site-specific movement pieces performed at venues around Esplanade. The series examines everyday cleaning rituals as engaging and spiritual chores. Exploring meticulous behaviours, the pieces bring new life to the spaces around the centre, as well as to the various “barang-barang” that hold memories. Come kemas with the dancers from P7:1SMA in this roving act for families and children.
