Want to prepare and eat a meal with mindfulness this Vesak Day?
Join us on a Lotus-themed culinary class! The lotus is a symbol of purity of the body, speech and mind and is a beautiful plant that has served nature and people for millennia.
In this culinary class, work collaboratively under the guidance of our instructor Mary Ho to prepare the following plant-based dishes:
- Enlightenment porridge: Buddha's last meal before his awakening journey was rice and milk.
- Lotus leaf wrap: Grilled mushrooms wrapped in lotus leaves
- Lotus root stir-fry: Lightly flavoured stir-fried lotus roots with sea vegetables
- Spiced tofu with kimchi
- Dessert: Lotus seeds with tao jiao
After the culinary class, sit down and enjoy your meal with our farm fresh cooling fig tea and famous banana bread! If you have some time after the class, walk to our lotus pond and spend some quiet time there with the sounds of nature.
Mary Ho is our in-house culinary instructor and natural healer. She shares her knowledge as an educator of a macrobiotic/wholefoods plant-based diet integrated with vibrational cooking and the healing properties and energies of food. She currently conducts regular cooking classes and healthy life workshops at Bollywood Adventures and has been invited to Shanghai, Manila, Israel and California for conferences and retreats.
