20 December – Handel's Messiah By St John's Voices, Cambridge
This choral work is so much associated with Christmas that for most people it’s hard to believe that originally this music piece was supposed to be performed during the Easter season. But anyway, the tradition of performing this music piece around Christmas holiday is so strong in the orchestra and choir world, that a rare concert hall fails to schedule Handel’s Messiah for December. Victoria Concert Hall is no exception, which means that Handel's most popular work and may well be one of the greatest choral works of all time will be performed in Singapore on 20th December.
St John's Voices, a mixed-voice college choir, under the baton of its Music Director Graham Walker, will make your mood even more festive and joyous by performing this triumphant music!
