DIY Lucky Stamp - The Beauty of Words, Blessing of Stamps

This activity is suitable for all the family to do together, especially at this wonderful time of year.

The blessings that ancient people have passed down through the generations have been forged though a combination of art and auspicious words. Share in the beauty of your lucky stamp while you are pressing love permanently onto the paper by hand, which you will then put into the frame, and then take it home with rich blessings for all.

Tools: 1 tube of ink, 1 cylinder, 2 sheets of red rice paper (large), 1 horse lotus, 1 frame.

  • Select Woodblock: Select a “lucky compound character” woodblock carving;
  • Ink: Select a color stamp pad, press evenly on the engraving, then evenly colour the engraving;
  • The Paper: The rice paper is gently overlaid onto the engraving, taking care to keep the engraving in the middle of the rice paper.
  • Print: Hold the rice paper in one hand, and press the rice paper from the middle out of the lotus root evenly to make the ink appear on the rice paper;
  • Finish: gently uncover the rice paper from one corner and let it dry for a while;
  • Frame: Put the print into the customized photo frame. The auspicious engraving work with hand-made temperature is completed!

The last step, take the lucky stamp home!
