Summer Fest. ACTION


SummerFest 2017 Action will be a series of sports activities co-organized by Backyard Roots and a host of sports associations taking place at the Central Harbourfront Event Space.

 

  • Netball Fever 

Activities include Sports Trial Area, have-A-Go Netball, Media Fun, Netball Competitions for our netball community and Sign Me Up Area! Participants can come and try out 6 netball related activities, and play in an actual netball match supervised by out experiences coaching staff. Special appearance of our National Squad Members for photos and signing opportunities!

  • Youth SportsFest

Youth SportsFest features alternative sports activities targeted for teenagers aged 8-16. Sports games, trials and workshops of baseball, cricket, lacrosse, floor curling, weightlifting, American football, kin-ball, and lion dance will be held. Special Olympics also offers bocce and floor hockey activities. The event is open to public free of charge. 
Pre-registration is preferred.

  • Baseball

Let participants learn basic baseball skills through fun drills, games and a modified baseball game named "Baseball Six".

  • Lacrosse

There will be demonstration games on the main pitch and skills coaching on the other pitches. once you have finished the basic classes, you can join the games on the main pitch to show off your nearly learned lacrosse skills!

Hong Kong Weightlifting teams up with Ursus Fitness, the only Strongman gym in Hong Kong, to create a never-before-seen strength and power training experience for local youth crowd. Working with elite athletes and accomplishes coaches who break the stereotypical look of a "muscle-bound steroid-user" will help educate people in Hong Kong about the benefits of training in the three strength and power disciplines: 
1. Olympic Weightlifting
2. Powerlifting
3. Strongman

Crossfire Neon Sports Carnival is the first Combat Sports event in Hong Kong, offering Crossfire Combat Archery, Dodgeball Galaxy and Neon Sabre Academy. Catering to all ages and fitness levels, come and expereience the excitement the excitement for the first time.

How to get there?

Bus: 
Depending on the bus route, you can alight in Central, Admiralty or the Outlying Ferry Piers and walk to the site. 

Ferry:
Take the Star Ferry to Central and walk towards the left after disembarking. Approximately 1 minute walking distance.

MTR: 
Access the site from Central (exit A) or HK Station (exit A2). Approximately 10 minutes walking distance.
From Admiralty Station (exit A) head towards Tamar Park, walk through the park towards the Waterfront Promenade and turn left. Approximately 10 minutes walking distance.

Private car: 
There is no parking at Central Harbourfront Event Space. The closest public carparks are located at City Hall, IFC and Pacific Place.

Taxi: 
Alight at the Star Ferry taxi drop off and walk straight ahead. Approximately 2 to 4 minutes walking distance.
