The Leonids are a major annual meteor shower peaking around November 17–18, known for producing fast, bright, and colorful meteors, including fireballs.
Originating from comet 55P/Tempel-Tuttle, they appear to emanate from the constellation Leo.
While usually producing 10-15 meteors per hour, they can create spectacular storms every 33 years.
