Kicking off the new art season, Alserkal Lates will see Alserkal Avenue come alive with soundscapes, multimedia exhibitions, and live music performances. Join us for an evening of cultural discovery, celebrating our latest art exhibitions, and our ever-growing community.
This year, as part of a project to renew and improve spaces of congregation within the Avenue, the Yard will be home to new botanical and architectural features. With greening by Zain Masud, and architecture by T.Sakhi, the project rediscovers the indigenous and native plants of this region, and celebrates local craftsmanship, marking a turning point for the Avenue’s public realm. A specially commissioned soundscape by Safeya Alblooshi will also be revealed on the night. An immersive sonic creation that intricately weaves together the past, present, and potential future of The Yard.
Programming will take place throughout the evening with six-piece ensemble, The Tasty Biscuits performing, paralleled with a series of Slow Art Walks touring around a compelling line-up of art exhibitions; the oldest waterhole cam in Africa and the world WildEarth on the Yard’s new screens; and a world music-Arabic Folk open venue concert at The Fridge.
